SurgeCon: An Emergency Department Surge Management Platform

SurgeCon is a software designed to manage “surge” or high volumes in the ED. It is supported by a $4.8 million grant from CIHR, the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Government, Eastern Health, Memorial University, and the Trinity Conception Placentia Health Foundation.

Conducted a scoping review of patient characteristics, adverse events, and health outcomes for older adults labelled as “community emergencies.” A retrospective chart review of community emergencies in the Carbonear Emergency Department is in progress.
